about us

MacCorkindale International Partners was set up in 1991 by Duncan MacCorkindale and John Holton. Shortly after the incorporation of the firm in Los Angeles, Duncan returned to London to setup the UK office and to provide a service to those clients working Internationally.

Duncan MacCorkindale trained with Thomson McLintock in the UK before they merged with KPMG. Once qualifying as ACA in 1976 he moved to a smaller west end practice where he specialised in providing UK taxation services for individuals and their companies.

In January 1984 he moved to Los Angeles where he spent 8 years in a highly respected Accounting firm specialising in Business Management and International Taxation. He was instrumental in establishing the department which focused on British, Australian and non US clients working in the USA and US Citizens working abroad. It was this experience which highlighted a niche in the market place, predominantly serviced by the large accounting firms, which he felt would be better served by a small practice.

Duncan's extensive knowledge of International Taxation and John's overall Business Management experience has proved to be an ideal combination. As a result they offered a total personal service to individuals and firms who have interests predominantly in the USA and UK but also in Europe and Australasia.

In 2005 John retired from the partnership but remains a consultant and continues to work closely with our clients and team to pass on his extensive wealth of knowledge.
